Medik8 Rewind Peel

PEEL PRE TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS + EXPECTATIONS

• We cannot treat if you are pregnant, nursing or currently using Accutane.
• Your skin will heal best from a chemical peel if your at home regime supports a healthy skin barrier which your Therapist can prescribe.
• One week prior to your peel please avoid the following treatment:  Electrolysis, Waxing Depilatory Creams and Laser Hair Removal.
• 3-7 days before your peel please discontinue the use of exfoliants and the following products:  Any products containing retinol, AHA or BHA or benzoyl peroxide.

POST TREATMENT EXPECTATIONS + CARE

• The first 2 days your skin may look a little tanned, bronzed or pink.  It may also feel a little tight before the peeling begins.
• Treat your skin like sunburn – avoid sun exposure, excess sweating and the heat.
• It is recommended 5-7 days following your peel to use a good moisturiser and apply  Sunscreen SPF 50 during the day.  Exposing your skin to the sun may cause post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
• During the peeling phase you must avoid sun exposure and reapply your sunscreen at least 3 times per day.
• Do not help the skin to peel.  NO pulling, rubbing, scrubbing or peeling the skin as this can cause scarring or hyperpigmentation.
• Avoid irritation and discomfort, do not exfoliate or use Vitamin A, Vitamin C or AHA products 5-7 days post treatment.
• It is important to use recommended homecare prescribed by your therapist to optimise results.  If post peel products sting or irritate beyond your tolerance, reach out to your Therapist for alternatives.
• The amount of visible peeling you will experience varies greatly.  You will peel as much as your skin needs to peel!  Peeling is a side effect of treatment, not the goal!
• Days 3, 4 and 5 are the typical days of peeling, by day 6 most exfoliation has subsided.

Lymphatic Therapy

Our lymphatic system is often overlooked – this treatment is designed to support both the circulatory and lymphatic systems by driving fresh oxygenated blood (rich in nutrients) to the skin while also removing waste and deoxygenated blood, allowing our skin to thrive. Perfect for congested, acneic and sluggish skins – or those needing a pick me up.

Microdermabrasion

A deep and thorough exfoliation of dead skin cells benefiting the treatment of ageing, sun damaged skin, acne scarring and acne, while removing impurities and promoting cellular regeneration.

Hydra Microdermabrasion

An excellent two step deep cleansing treatment for instant brighter, smoother skin. Diamond microdermabrasion offers a thorough exfoliation to gently resurface the skin.  Followed by a vortex of solutions that gently and effectively lifts and removes keratinised skin cells and impurities from the epidermal layers.

Hydrabrasion

Hydrabrasion is a two step microdermabrasion system that exfoliates with both a dry and a wet system. The skin is deeply exfoliated with diamonds followed by hydrabrasion to flush out and deeply cleanse the pores.  This treatment is soothing, refreshing and deeply cleansing.
